David Cox is the Legal and Compliance Director and General Counsel at Rightmove, bringing a wealth of legal expertise and a deep understanding of the property industry’s regulatory landscape. Since joining Rightmove in November 2020, David has played a pivotal role in steering the company’s legal and compliance strategies. His extensive experience in political lobbying and advocacy has been instrumental in shaping the industry, particularly through successful campaigns such as the implementation of mandatory Client Money Protection (CMP) and the Regulation of Property Agents (RoPA).

Prior to his role at Rightmove, David spent nearly seven years as the Chief Executive of Propertymark, the leading professional body for the property industry. His leadership there cemented his reputation as a key figure in the sector, influencing both policy and practice. Currently, David also serves as a Board Director for Rightmove Landlord and Tenant Services and Rightmove Financial Services, where he oversees legal compliance and governance in tenant referencing, insurance, and mortgage services.

David’s legal acumen is rooted in his training as a Barrister-at-Law, having been called to the Bar of Lincoln's Inn in 2006. His background also includes board positions with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS), Money Shield, and Propertymark Qualifications, further underscoring his deep involvement in the regulatory and compliance aspects of the property industry.

Dawn Bennett is a seasoned expert in the lettings industry with over 20 years of experience, known for her legal expertise and passion for coaching. Dawn's journey began as an administrator, quickly advancing to a negotiator where she joined Sally’s team in 2007. From the outset, Dawn made an impressive impact, consistently surpassing targets by achieving 30 lets per month, driven by her hunger for sales and her ability to generate significant revenue for the business.

Her remarkable success led to swift promotions, first to Lettings Manager and then to Branch Manager within just a few years. In 2015, Dawn took on the challenge of launching a new branch from scratch in Wolverhampton, growing it organically to 120 properties under management through sheer determination and strategic acumen.

Dawn’s true passion, however, lies in the legal side of the lettings industry. This passion saw her take on a pivotal role during the restructuring of her company’s management department. She dove deep into the legislation, reordering operations, coaching the team, and hiring new talent to ensure compliance and operational excellence. Her enjoyment of this process led her to become the company’s lead legal coach, known for her ability to use real-life case studies to teach complex legal concepts in an accessible way.

Currently, Dawn heads the White Label Tenancy Management service, overseeing a large team of tenancy managers and the group accounts department. Her role is crucial in maintaining the operational excellence of the group of companies and the letting agents they collaborate with.
